Q1. What is Cowrie? A1. Cowrie also known as Cowry refer to shells of snails from the family Cypraeidae. These shells are rounded in structure and give off a vibrant shine. Cowrie shells are used for different types of jewelry including bangles, belts, and necklaces as they look pleasing and have natural feel to them. All Cowrie shells have a porcelain like shine except for the Hawaiian granulated cowrie. The cowrie shells can vary in length or size from 5mm to 15cm. Most of the Cowries shells used by us for making Cowrie belts are in the range of 5mm-10mm size.
